Center Academy VP of Operations Steps Down from McKay Scholarship Position
Center Academy congratulates its Vice President of Operations, Mr. Steve Hicks, for his many years of service as President of the Coalition of McKay Scholarship Schools. His leadership has helped advance the cause of parental choice in education, giving thousands of students opportunities they otherwise would not have had.
Yet another research study was released this month demonstrating the effectiveness of school choice programs in Florida.
This is what the McKay Coalition had to say about Mr. Hicks in their most recent newsletter: Steve Hicks has made such a difference. We want to thank him for his years of service to The Coalition as the president. He will continue to be active on the Board, representing our schools and children at the legislature and in other endeavors.
Mr. Hicks also will continue to serve in numerous other positions of leadership around the state, including as a member of the Domestic Security Focus Group, and as Treasurer of the Florida Association of Academic Nonpublic Schools.
Mr. Hicks is in his 20th year with Center Academy. He has been a director of numerous Center Academy schools as well as a regional director. He holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and has worked with the Department of Children and Families in Florida. Congratulations Steve, and thanks for your continued service to Center Academy and the students of Florida and Georgia!
