Brianna Somoano, now 21 and a former student at the Lutz Campus, majored in English and Psychology. English inspired her love of writing, and she is interested in learning about human interaction through her study of psychology. Her favorite teacher is Mr. D. who she describes as “always very motivating, teaching me to stand up for myself and have my own voice.”

“Center Academy was always so welcoming,” she said. “I have grown so much as a person; my confidence is better, and I now have a clear vision of what I want to go after. I’ve gained so much trust in myself and my abilities,” she said.

Brianna comes from a family with five siblings and a golden doodle. She told us that one of the most valuable things she learned at Center Academy is that “life’s a journey, and one should enjoy the ride. It’s all about how we play the cards we are dealt in this life.” She describes herself as strong, kind and determined. She is most inspired by her therapist, Mrs. Lisa, because “She always speaks straight to my heart and I love being around her.”

Brianna just released a new book on Amazon called My Walk and Conversations with God, and recently had a book-signing. She just started college at PHSC to major in Human Services because she wants to become a professional counselor. She enjoys public speaking and horseback riding.
