Student Spotlight – Solomon Pigford
He describes himself as friendly, humble, hardworking, and follows the truism that “no matter how hard the work, do your best and finish strong.”
We’re talking about Solomon Pigford, a 17-year-old in 12th grade at the Center Academy Mandarin Campus.
A Florida native, his favorite subjects are Math and English. His favorite teacher is Mr. Lewis because “he teaches me life lessons and is always very caring and helpful to me and my family.”
But Solomon went on to say that “all the teachers here are very helpful.”
Since attending Center Academy, Solomon feels that his work ethics and maturity have improved. He feels he has become much more mature and serious about his work.
Solomon’s family includes his mom, dad, a 27-year-old brother and 25-year-old sister. He also has a Chihuahua named Roxi. He shared with us that his mom and dad work very hard, and they love spending time together as a family.
Solomon was accepted into Jacksonville University with an academic scholarship for four years, and plans to major in film studies. If he had a chance, he would like to sit down and have a meaningful conversation with Spike Lee, the famous American film director, producer, writer and actor, in hopes of getting some tips on how to make good films.
Thank you, Solomon, for sharing a little about yourself. Congratulations on your accomplishments, and being selected for this month’s Student Spotlight!
