Center Academy began in 1968 with the vision of its founder, Dr. Mack Hicks, who saw the need for a specialized, full-day school for students who were falling through the cracks in traditional schools.
Lisa DuChateau, born in Orlando, Florida, has been involved in education for over twenty years in the private school sector. She has worked in private education for over 20 years as a K-12 educator and administrator. She received her B.S. degree from the University of Central Florida in Exceptional Education, Specific Learning Disabilities, and her M.A. degree in Elementary Education.
