Academy Directors of Florida
Coral Springs (West Boca / Margate Area)
Ms. Barbara Cooper has been in the field of education for more than 25 years. She has served as a teacher and as an administrator. Ms. Cooper’s previous experience includes 11 years with Sylvan Learning as both a Center Director and a District Manager. Along with education, her passions include local community outreach and non-profit fundraising. Ms. Cooper has earned a BFA from the State University of New York at Buffalo and has also attended Syracuse University as an undergraduate.
Mrs. Melissa Adams has over 20 years of education experience as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, and principal in public, charter, and private schools. Mrs. Adams graduated with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a minor in Science, and received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She is certified in both high and low ropes team building which she incorporates with her staff and students.
Jacksonville – Julington Creek
Mrs. Ellen Mattheus completed her undergraduate work in education at Adelphi University, New York. She received her Master’s Degree from Concordia University, Irvine, California in Curriculum and Instruction, along with a theological endorsement. She has served in the field of education for over 20 years within public and private schools in several capacities: teacher, curriculum resource, reading interventionist, professional development coordinator, instructional coach, director and principal. She also holds Florida endorsements in Reading and English for Speakers of Other Languages.
Jacksonville – St. Johns Bluff
Ron Booker has over 20 years of educational leadership experience, having served as principal, director, assistant principal and assistant to the commandant. He completed his B.S. in Education and Master of Education at the University of Virginia.
Mr. Todd Kelly has over 20 years of experience in the field of education. Prior to becoming a principal and director, he was a teacher in both the private and public sectors. Most recently he served overseas as the Director of an English speaking international school. Todd has both a B.S. in Business Administration as well as a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
Ms. Joann Sas has over twenty years of experience in the field of education. She has worked as an administrator, a special education teacher and department chair, a special education advocate, and a curriculum consultant. Ms. Sas holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from George Mason University.
Mr. David Kaser served as a school principal prior to joining the Center Academy team. He has worked in private education for over 20 years as a K-12 educator and administrator. Mr. Kaser holds his A.G.S. in General Studies from Indiana University, his B.S in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Ball State University and is completing his studies in Educational Leadership.
Mr. Neall Jones has over 20 years of experience in the field of education. Mr. Jones served as a school principal in Florida and Pennsylvania in both public and private school settings. Prior to that, he was a teacher for 7 years. Mr. Jones earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and K-12 principal certification from Westminster College, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Clarion University in Pennsylvania.
Tampa – Riverview
Mr. David Stone has been the Riverview Center Academy director for the past 18 years. He came to Center Academy from Metropolitan Ministries Academy, where he was director of residential services. He has experience in both public and private schools and served in a leadership role with Metropolitan Ministries for 7 years. Mr. Stone holds a Bachelors degree from Florida Baptist Theological College.
Lisa DuChateau, born in Orlando, has over twenty years of experience in the field of education, receiving her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida in Exceptional Education, Specific Learning Disabilities, and her Master’s degree in Elementary Education. After teaching in many different areas and capacities, she received certificates in Fundraising and Development and Nonprofit Management. In 2016, she became the Director of Advancement at Morning Star Catholic School, focusing on her passion of helping those with special needs.
