A twelfth grader at Center Academy’s Maitland campus, Darryl’s favorite subject is Leadership. “I like this class mainly because I am able to learn how to not only become a better leader, but also to learn how to treat others and communicate with people,” he said. His favorite teacher is Mrs. Gomez because, “This teacher has always wanted the best for me and has pushed me to try my hardest in life to reach my full potential.”

One of Darryl’s favorite things about Center Academy is how the teachers work with you independently and always bring out your best to become successful. “This school has encouraged me to become more active in my community and pursue higher levels of education,” he said. One of the best things he’s learned is finding a career that he can enjoy because of his interests. Darryl describes himself as a “peaceful, kind-hearted leader.”

A Florida native, Darryl lives with his mom and has a beautiful dog named Jesse.

The person who most inspires Darryl is Barack Obama because of how he speaks, the way he conducts himself with confidence, and cares for people.

For the past two years, Darryl has been dual enrolled at Seminole State College and has been part of the community service club and basketball team. He plans on finishing his associate’s degree at Seminole State College and later transfer to UCF to pursue a major in Computer Science.

Congratulations, Darryl, for all your accomplishments and being featured in our Student Spotlight!
