Center Academy began in 1968 with the vision of its founder, Dr. Mack Hicks, who saw the need for a specialized, full-day school for students who were falling through the cracks in traditional schools.
Mr. Josh Stafford has nearly 25 years of experience in education. Coming from a classroom background, Mr. Stafford has taught grades 7-12 with a focus on supporting academic growth and student well‑being. For the last 10 years, Mr. Stafford has served as a school Director and Administrator in the Orlando area. His work has centered on school improvement, strengthening inclusive school cultures, as well as mentoring educators and leaders. Mr. Stafford brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience to Center Academy as the Director of our Maitland campus.
