Center Academy began in 1968 with the vision of its founder, Dr. Mack Hicks, who saw the need for a specialized, full-day school for students who were falling through the cracks in traditional schools.
Dr. Mack Hicks founded Center Academy in 1968 and achieved the status of Diplomate, American Board of Professional Psychology and the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology. Listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in psychology. Director of a three-year research grant from the National Institute of Mental Health on learning disabilities.
