Center Academy began in 1968 with the vision of its founder, Dr. Mack Hicks, who saw the need for a specialized, full-day school for students who were falling through the cracks in traditional schools.
Mrs. Susan Hicks is the Corporation Vice President, Marketing Consultant and Bookkeeping Consultant. She joined Center Academy over 35 years ago and served as Head Psychometrist. Mrs. Hicks has received numerous awards and honors for her work with community organizations, including PARC, the Junior League, the Dali Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, and St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation. She is a member of the Florida Orchestra Community Engagement Committee Education Task Force.
